The Market Commons – where community is built!
Doors opening soon
The Market Commons is a welcoming and inclusive neighborhood center. Many people will benefit from The Market Commons! Pike Place Market and Downtown residents will find the doors wide open. Low-income and homeless clients who receive lifeline services from the agencies currently housed in the Market will have access. Plus, The Market Commons will create space to address the needs of Market workers.
It will provide community resources and information. In this new center, we will expand delivery of social services – both in the scope of services currently offered and in the number of people we connect to services provided by partner agencies. After the new center is open, we anticipate that it will serve 8,000 clients in the first year.
All sorts of programs and activities will be hosted in the new space. The Market Commons will be a multifaceted and flexible space that will support programming that has been shaped by our constituents’ needs. Here, people can drop in to access information and learn about eligibility requirements for partner programs and resources. Also, they will be able to participate in rotating programming.
We look forward to seeing people to connect and build relationships in the new neighborhood center.
The Market Commons will be a showcase for history, with moving and flexible story board, and we believe it will inspire collaboration among the many different constituents who will utilize the space.
The Market Commons’ doors will be opening this summer. Check back in here for more information.
