“The power for change is fueled by what a community cares most about. The opportunity to play a role in bringing to reality a vision for a strong, healthy, and diverse Market community–is truly one of my greatest joys.”
Professional Background: Community is a common theme in my work. I began my nonprofit career building community support that led to Portland’s groundbreaking Arts Education and Access Fund’s successful passage to restore arts and music to public schools, providing increased access to the arts in every classroom and community. I connected with that initiative because the kids with little to no arts education were primarily low-income students and students of color. Fast forward to today, and I find myself in a new role building community among you, our donors, in support of our healthy community model, centered on equity. When you give to Pike Place Market Foundation, you become part of a community making progress toward a vision where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and live their best lives possible in the Market, regardless of race, age, ability, and economic status.
Why I Love My Career: I love connecting people’s desire to make a difference with a mission and vision where their passions can come to life.
Fun Fact: Drizzly cloudy days put a smile on my face.
