Our Neighborhood

Pike Place Market Foundation

SUSTAINING THE SOUL OF SEATTLE

Following a decades-long fight to save Pike Place Market from the wrecking ball, the Market Foundation was founded in 1982 to provide services and support for the Market community, with especially our neighbors living on low incomes at the heart of our mission.

Our mission is to nurture a thriving Market community so that everyone within it can live their best life possible.

As a community foundation, we provide funding and partnership to a network of social services in Pike Place Market. We also operate programs and services through our community resource center, The Market Commons.

People dedicate their time, talent and treasure to making Pike Place Market a vibrant community.

With the support of volunteers and donors, the Pike Place Market Foundation has invested more than $40 million in sustaining a network of social services, building Market housing, and funding restorations to our historic district.
