Where Needed Most
I trust the board and staff at Pike Place Market Foundation to use funds where it’s needed now and in the future to sustain Pike Place Market.
Legacy Partners
Our long-standing partners in the Market community, often referred to as the “Five Families”. Since the early 1980s, the Market Foundation has dedicated consistent, unrestricted funding to allow our Market partners to sustain operations year-after-year and improve services in the Market community. We are not only a major funder of these programs, but we also collaborate to improve services and identify critical connections to improve the impact of the community as a whole.
Our Legacy Partners are: Pike Market Food Bank Pike Market Childcare & Preschool, Neighborcare Health at Pike Place Market, Pike Market Senior Center and Heritage House at the Market
Community Impact Fund
This flexible and responsive fund allows The Market Foundation to remain community-centered to improve access to essential services and resources that create a healthy community. The Market Commons is home to an array of new and existing programs that enable us to reduce barriers to meet emerging service needs in our community. Working in collaboration with our partners throughout the Market and across the city we’re able to address the needs of our neighbors as they arise. Current Community Impact Programs include: Small Business Recovery Fund, The Market Community Safety Net, Food Access Program and The Market Commons.
Heritage and Preservation
This fund is dedicated to the preservation, maintenance, and stewardship of the Market Historic District and surrounding neighborhood. Since 1982 The Market Foundation has funded renovation and development projects within the historic district including the building and renovation of senior housing, the Market’s social service agencies, Market buildings and most recently, the MarketFront expansion in 2017. This fund is also dedicated to promoting the Market’s history, heritage and cultural traditions.
