Market Foundation PROGRAMS (Events)
Rally Together for the Market!: This is a live-stream showcase from the Pike Place Market Foundation. Join us to see how we’ve overcome the challenges of the past year and what’s ahead as we rally together for the Market’s road to recovery. Celebrate with local music, food, and stories of the Market you love and find out how you can help keep the Market strong!
Sunset Supper: Our 25th annual Sunset Supper at Pike Place Market will celebrate the anniversary of the Market with food, music and community on Friday, August 20th. This year’s THE Party of the Summer will be modified to adhere to safety and outdoor dining regulations, support our Market chefs, and will offer ways to celebrate the tastes and sounds of the Market from home!
50th Anniversary of Saving Pike Place Market: This year we are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Market being saved from the wrecking ball back in 1971. This celebration will come in a few parts including a documentary highlighting our history, in-market celebrations, and a campaign to benefit the Market and downtown community for generations to come. There will be opportunity to sponsor and partner with us on each of these individual parts (the documentary, celebrations and campaign), depending on areas of interest.

The Market Foundation and the Market itself has exciting things happening all year round. Here are some things for you to look forward to this year!
Group Volunteer Opportunities and Drives
Hygiene Drive: We are collecting essential hygiene items and cold weather wear for residents of the Market’s senior housing and assisted living, students of our childcare, and our un-housed neighbors. These vital items will help ensure that everyone in our community has access to needed supplies to keep themselves safe and healthy.
Emergency Food Kits/No Cook Bags: Purchase items and assemble emergency food bags to be delivered to people at the food bank. These are intended to be easily carried to feed a person for a day or two – contents need to be non-perishable and not require a kitchen for prepping.
Individual Digital Volunteering Needs:
Google Ads Help: We’re looking for help with our SEO presence for the Pike Place Market Foundation website and social media channels. We’re especially in need of anyone experienced with Google Ads and Google Analytics software. If you’re a whiz with SEO and Google products, we would love your help! This would be a volunteer opportunity that would only take a couple of hours a week at most. Interested? Email us at alejandro.valdivieso@pikeplacemarket.org to learn more about being involved.
Social Media Ambassador: We need your help to bolster our social media presence and spread the word on the Market Foundation’s mission. Follow the Pike Place Market Foundation on one or all of our social media platforms. Then like, share and comment on our posts to help spread the word and raise awareness! Share your own story about why you love the Market and give back to the Market Foundation for added impact.
Data Entry: A healthy database is a good database. Our staff could use assistance with data entry needs such as address updates, contact changes, profile building, and cleaning data for reporting and solicitation purposes. Help us streamline our processes, develop enhanced and personalized solicitations/communications and build stronger relationships. Training will be provided! Website Design: Our partners at the Pike Market Childcare and Preschool could use help in updating their website. They are open to updating what they have, but ideally they need a new platform that allows them to better recruit and fundraise. This would be a fairly independent project and we would connect you to the preschool staff to discuss needs and coordinate the timeline.

- Stewardship piece examples: Here you will find templates for stewardship purposes. PPMF has a stewardship in place for each donor and each partner who engages with us. As a Corporate Ambassador, if you feel inclined to send direct stewardship pieces to individuals, please feel free to use one of the templates we’ve provided.
