Did you know almost two thirds of all Americans do not have a will? Regardless of your stage in life, having a will ensures that your wishes are known, protects your belongings, and saves time, money, and stress for your loved ones.
That’s why the Market Foundation has launched a partnership with FreeWill: a free innovative online tool that makes estate planning simple and accessible.
While you create your will with FreeWill, you have the option to plan a legacy gift to the Pike Place Market Foundation. Your gift, regardless of its size, will cost nothing today but will ensure the Market remains a thriving community for generations to come.
For over 50 years, I’ve been going to Pike Place Market … My Abuelito loved the diversity of the Market, and shared that love with me.
Now I am honoring his generosity of spirit and legacy by ensuring that I leave a significant amount to the Pike Place Market Foundation in my will.

Meet Market Ghost: Arthur Goodwin!
As one of the oldest continuously operating farmer’s markets in the country, our neighborhood has a fascinating (and sometimes supernatural) history. One ghost who makes himself most known is Arthur Goodwin: one of the Market’s first managers who had his office close to Ghost Alley Espresso, and continues to reside there today.
Having grown up in show business, Arthur designed the interiors of the Market to look like a theater. If you look up while walking in the Market you will see thousands of lightbulbs in the Arcade by Pike Place Fish, and ornate archways, pillars, and decorations throughout the Market. Read more about Arthur and his ghostly encounters >>
Boo Yourself a Favor: Don’t miss this chance to secure your legacy, protect your loved ones, and write yourself into the ghost stories of Pike Place Market!
Remember, everyone who creates a will and designates the Market Foundation as a beneficiary during the month of October will receive a free Mystery Mocha, t-shirt from Ghost Alley Espresso, and one-hour behind-the-scenes tour of the Market community!
P.S. Prefer to see an attorney or have a complex situation? You can still use FreeWill to think through your wishes and create a print-out to bring to the attorney’s office, saving time and money.
