Update: Pike Place MarketFront construction continues on schedule, thanks to your dollars at work and the hardworking Sellen Construction team!
This month, crews will continue glulam installation and framing 40 low-income housing units.
“Glulam installation” refers to the large wood beams that frame the new MarketFront retail space. This material was specifically designed into the project as a nod to the heavy timber beams we see today in Pike Place Market. This is just one example of how The Miller Hull Partnership designed the MarketFront to maintain the character of the Market, while incorporating a modern-day design. Learn more.
“This is a rare and exciting design opportunity – to work within the context of Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market, while providing a key passageway to what will be Seattle’s newly developed waterfront. Our firm is mindful of the need to respect both the existing and new context of this project that will link established and emerging elements of our extraordinary city – and we are honored to be chosen for this important design challenge.”
– Dave Miller, founding partner and project design lead, Miller Hull
