We hope you’re planning to join us at the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new Pike Place MarketFront on Wednesday, June 24 at 1:00 PM. This expansion of Pike Place Market on Western Avenue will provide a future connection to the waterfront, expansive views of the Sound from a public plaza, new dining, shopping and entertainment opportunities, additional parking and low-income housing for seniors.
Join Seattle Mayor Ed Murray, Pike Place Market Preservation and Development Authority Council, Pike Place Market Foundation Board, Friends of the Market, and the entire Market community in celebrating the realization of a 40-year vision to complete the Market historic district.
As a fan of the Market, we want you to know the existing historic marketplace will not, and cannot, be significantly altered with this expansion. Please also note the following:
–Pike Place Market is open and fully operational during construction of the MarketFront. Construction begins in June on Western Avenue.
-For details on construction impacts and to sign up for construction updates go to the Sellen Construction project website: sellen.com/marketfront
