3rd community lunch in Pike Place Market brings our neighbors to the table
Posted May 14, 2014
Yesterday, May 13, was the 3rd month community lunch in Pike Place Market. Over 100 members of the Market community came to the Atrium kitchen for a FREE, healthy lunch! Members of the Pike Market Senior Center, volunteers at the Food Bank, teachers at the Preschool, Pike Place Market staff, and many others joined in on the fun. Thanks to the 15 number of volunteers who prepped, served, and did the dishes!

The menu featured blended asparagus soup, kale salad, tuna and white bean salad, and rhubarb compote with a hot milk sponge cake for dessert! YUM. Ingredients came from Sosio’s Produce in Pike Place Market and Alm Hill Farm. For more photos of this month’s lunch, visit our Facebook page.

Community lunches in Pike Place Market occur the 2nd Tuesday of each month and are held in the Market’s Atrium Kitchen. These lunches are part of the Food Access Project, which is sponsored by the Pike Place Market Foundation and makes healthy, affordable food available for everyone in the Market community.
